At the Lyndhurst Childhood Enrichment Center we believe young children learn best in a caring, nurturing and safe environment. We strive to promote positive relationships between children, families, staff, and the community. The Center provides a loving atmosphere that encourages creative thinking and problem solving, recognizing that in our children we are building our future.

Our belief is that the role of our teachers is to stimulate, support, encourage learning and development socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through various age and developmentally appropriate experiences.

Children learn through their daily experiences and routines to make decisions, carry out responsibilities, express themselves creatively, and make friendships. At LCPC children are exposed to music, movement, art, dramatic play, blocks, science, reading, life skills, outdoor play, and manipulative experiences.

Because we desire to provide a high level of quality care, LCPC maintains a teacher to child ratio below that which is required by Ohio Day Care Licensing Law. LCPC’s average ratio is 1:7 for our 2-1/2 - 3 year olds, 1:10 for young 4s, and 1:12 for our older 4-5 year olds.

Lyndhurst Childhood Enrichment Center staff believe that helping the children learn self-control is very important. Our hope is that each child will learn self-discipline through careful guidance. Your child will be treated with love and respect. If a child is treated with respect, they will in turn learn to respect the teachers and their friends. Our expectations will be kept within the child’s capabilities and the child will be made aware of these expectations. Positive reinforcement (commenting on the child doing the “right thing”) and positive redirection (removing the child and giving them an appropriate activity) will be used.
